Z-STAR (pronounced “Zee-Star”) is the psychedelic blues rock band of award-winning international artist Zee Gachette. A powerhouse performer, vocalist, songwriter, guitarist and producer. Her music is deeply rooted in the blues, with retro hues of garage funk, soul jazz roots, dirty roc n disco.

Influences range from Hendrix to Nina Simone, The Doors and Zeppelin. The Z-STAR experience is electrifying, dynamic and highly entertaining. Beautifully crafted original songs, red-hot guitar riffs, soulful cosmic keys and epic heavy grooves create a mothership of sound in which Zee’s deep raspy vocals rocket into orbit, taking the entire audience with her.

The British-Trinidadian musician, currently based in the Northern Rivers, has shared stages and collaborated with a diverse range of music icons including Nigel Kennedy’s Hendrix Project (opening for Eric Clapton at the Royal Albert Hall), Richie Havens, Terry Callier, Jeff Beck, Wolfmother, Deep Purple and Keziah Jones, among others. She has performed with a 52-piece orchestra broadcast live on Italian TV (Epiphania Rai Uno), and her EDM duo SlowTrainSoul has been featured on U.S. television series Californication, Six Feet Under and Ugly Betty, as well as championed by LA rocker Iggy Pop on his BBC Radio 1 playlist.

Z-STAR’s transcendental live shows have lit up stages worldwide, with performances at some of the most legendary music festivals and venues including MTV Live, Glastonbury, The Great Escape, the Queen’s Jubilee in Hyde Park, Port Fairy Folk Festival, Caloundra Music Festival, Blues on Broadbeach, Guitare En Scène, Arezzo Wave and Blue Mountains Festival. The Z-STAR band for Bluesfest 2026 will feature a line-up of all-star musicians and the flamboyant Australian drummer Beck Flatt.

With standing ovations from rock royalty Jimmy Page and Roger Daltrey, and an award for Best Live Act presented by 60s psych-rock legend Arthur Brown, Zee Gachette’s blues incarnation of cosmic rock continues to mesmerise audiences around the globe. Performing music from the forthcoming release “16 Tons of Love”, the Z-STAR experience comes to Bluesfest 2026.
