Stuff you need to know about Volunteering at Bluesfest 2018

You must be over 18 years old to apply. You are committing to 25 hours of volunteer work;

5 hour shift on each day of the 5 day festival 25 hours of pre-festival work

We will do our best to match your experience, skills & talents to the tasks at hand however you may be required to perform one or varying roles.

You must be available for the duration of Bluesfest 2018 over the Easter long weekend, from Thursday 29 th March 2018 until Monday 2nd April 2018 inclusive and work 25 hours, ie. one 5 hours shift on each of the 5 days of the festival which will alternate between morning (10am-3pm), afternoon (2.30pm-7:30pm) & night (7pm-12pm) shifts each day (approximately).

During festival work varies from bar fridge stocking, cloakroom assistance, customer feedback/surveys, crowd and traffic guidance, charity stall assistance, camping assistance, kitchen hands, recycling/waste management/bar cleaning and production/stage hand assistance. You may be assigned to different jobs each day however will generally be in a team focussed on one of these tasks.

Pre-fest runs from Monday 12th March 2018 and Wednesday 28th April 2018 inclusive, you must have your own transportation, your own accommodation offsite, work 25 hours pre-festival and be flexible with work times & days (living local works best & is preferred). Previous experience with event setup and/or formal relevant training is very favourable. Pre-festival work is generally very physical, has high elemental exposure and long work days: bar stock load-in, kitchen set up, décor / dressing room set up, scaffolding building, site readiness, camping and stalls set up & ingress.

Please note that, if successful with your application, you will be required to commit to a $150 bond as a during festival volunteer when you register.

We securely store your credit card details until after the festival. If you breach the volunteer agreement and festival terms and conditions then you will be charged $150.
The bond is only forfeited in the event of misconduct, as a result you will also be removed from the volunteering team.
A bond commitment from volunteers helps to ensure we have a secure and honest volunteer team to help run the event and minimises disruptions for the volunteering team and the festival.
