Brotherhood of the Blues are coming to Bluesfest!
The Brotherhood of the Blues will be sharing their story and their love of the Blues with you this Easter.
The band is fronted by three talented young Aboriginal men with various disabilities such as cerebral palsy and autism. Luke Murray, John Cieslak and Zac Paden started writing songs together as part of a music program held at RED Inc., a Lismore based disability support provider.
In late 2014, Brotherhood of the Blues caught the interest of renowned producer Anthony Lycenko who went on to record the Brotherhood of the Blues self-titled EP at the legendary Studio 301 in Byron Bay in early 2015.
Since the successful launch of this EP later that year, the Brotherhood of the Blues have been going from strength to strength with their unique and authentic brand of raw Australian Blues music.
Brotherhood of the Blues feature powerful and inspired vocals over a killer rhythm section featuring Harley Bodenham (guitar) and Vincent Bashford (drums) with keyboard and backing vocals performed by renowned music industry veteran Taya Oxley. The band’s tastes are drawn from Hip-Hop and Soul through to Delta Blues and beyond, therefore they have an inspired and eclectic sound.
Brotherhood of the Blues is all about heart and soul. Their friendship with each other and their passion for the Blues provide an amazing insight into the life of a person living with a disability and sharing their story through song writing, music and performance.
2016 is looking to be a big year for the band and it is an honour to have them perform at Bluesfest for the very first time this March.
Brotherhood of the Blues perform at Bluesfest on Friday 25th of March and Saturday 26th of March.

Also added to the Playing Schedule…
Also coming to Bluesfest in a matter of weeks is the 2015 Bluesfest Busking comp winners Grizzlee Train who hail from the NSW central coast and will be performing on the Juke Joint Stage at Bluesfest on Sunday 27th March.
Since officially launching in late 2013, this energetic pair have already won a stack of awards, shared the stage with some of Australia's finest blues and rock acts (The Angels, Jimmy Barnes, Paul Kelly), and toured both nationally and internationally as part of the Kasey Chambers band – playing to sold out stadiums and theatres supporting the likes of Kenny Rogers and The Eagles.
In January 2016, they unveiled their second EP ‘Burned Him Again’, under the vision and guidance of award-winning producer Nash Chambers.
Grizzlee Train blend an old school core with sharp new-age kicks - a stripped back firing of raw energy and honest music. We welcome back one of Australia’s most exciting and energetic young acts!
