A message from your Festival Director and Michael Franti
Festival Director, Peter Noble

There are some things as a Festival Director that are 'pinch me - I must be dreaming moments' and this week it is seeing Bluesfest featured on the homepage of two of the world’s greatest artists websites: Dave Matthews Band and John Mayer.

We are also on Gary Clark Jr’s homepage. If you don't know about him, please take the time to learn more.

Gary is the real deal and has the ability to bring a focus on Blues music like few have done before - his career is new - his potential is incredible - he truly is the future of The Blues.

His potential is incredible - he (Gary Clark Jr) truly is the future of The blues.

Michael Franti made a short video last week saying how thrilled he is to be coming back to Bluesfest for our 25th.

We find out about all these things AFTER they have occurred. We have no idea of them beforehand which is why they are so amazing to us, as we see how fantastic playing at Bluesfest is to those artists.

Michael Franti

Who would have thought all those years ago, when a couple of music fans put all their energy into getting Bluesfest happening - and in being a real alternative to the music currently being played at other festivals of the time, we would be able to grow to where we are today.

It is incredible to actually have influenced our industry to the level we have, in presenting a real alternative Roots music festival - that has grown in so many ways - yet still has the roots of music at its core.

As I write this - John Mayer's very alt country style album Paradise Valley has just gone to Number 1 on the Aria chart - and what a great release it is.

Bluesfest 25 is going to be a year to remember.

Dave Matthews fans from all over the world have begun to make their travel plans to be at Bluesfest and are buying their tickets, as well as his legions of Australian fans.
For those of you who like stats - and I certainly do – our Bluesfest Facebook page was trending at number 2 on Tuesday – with a post reach of nearly 400,000 people and a weekly reach of nearly 1.4 million people. In terms of ticket sales, this has been our second biggest announcement after Bob Dylan and BB King in 2011.

There are still amazing artists to be announced, and I'm sure you will agree, once they are all rolled out, that Bluesfest 25 is going to be a year to remember.

We are working hard on our next announcement, which is only a matter of weeks away.

Stay tuned - and get ready for our breathtaking birthday celebration.
