How to get to Bluesfest ✈🚍🚗

Our beautiful Bluesfest fields are located on Bundjalung Land at Byron Events Farm, approximately 10 minutes north of the iconic Byron Bay and 5 minutes south of the picturesque Brunswick Heads. Being located in the heart of one of Australia’s top travel destinations allows Bluesfest to be accessible from essentially anywhere in the world 🌏… and in a typical year, we’re certainly used to welcoming artists and patrons from all the continents to our festival.OK, we know it’s not a typical year this year… but as Australia continues to open, we look forward to finally welcoming many more of you to Bluesfest next year.

Firstly, travelling by air is not only made possible by having one nearby airport… but THREE airports within a driveable distance to Byron Bay.

Once you touch down at one of the three available airports, there are a few options to help get you wherever you need to go next – whether that be the Bluesfest grounds OR your personal accommodation booked for the duration of your stay!

1. Simply pick up a car from the airport which can be used to visit the surrounding sights throughout the long weekend. Pre-bookings can be made here.

2. Jump in an airport transfer* that can either take you straight to the heart of town OR straight to your door (…you may need to pay a little extra to go direct! 🚌

3. OR jump in an Uber/Taxi! (we don’t recommend this for those travelling from Brisbane airport as this could end up being quite costly 💸💸)

*Bluesfest is in the process of setting up airport transfers straight to the festival grounds for our avid campers flying in! Keep an eye out 👀

For those planning on travelling by road 🚘🛣 (and we know there are many of you!) – well, we absolutely love the dedication… especially those who make the journey from interstate!!! For a loose idea of travel times… Coffs Harbour is 2hrs + 25mins away, Sunshine Coast is approx. 3 hours, Sydney is approx. 8 hours, Melbourne is a good 2 days of driving, Adelaide is more like 3 days… OK, you get the drill!

Once you arrive in the Northern Rivers, you’re just a skip, step and throw away from some of the most iconic spots to explore! Plus getting to the festival every day (if you’re not camping on site of course) is easy whether you choose to make your own way and park at the festival daily, OR travel in via one of our Bluesfest Shuttle Buses – timetable will be released closer to the festival.
