Christmas time and the holidays wouldn’t quite be as festive without music to help soundtrack every moment.
We’ve cherry-picked a few great songs here to watch and listen on YouTube. We had a lot of fun seeking these out, and we hope you have half as much fun watching them as we had finding them. And, read to the bottom for news of a fun little audio Christmas adventure…
Christone Kingfish Ingram • Ghost From Christmas Past, Live
One of our newly announced international artists, Christone did this amazing live acoustic blues Christmas song last year – but it’s so good it’s worth seeing again.
Cory Henry • First Noel
Last year Cory Henry released a whole Christmas album, full of his unique take on some traditional Christmas songs… check out 1st Noel

The Teskey Brothers • White Christmas
Otis Redding version. Carols by Candlelight 2019.
Back in 2019 at the Carols by Candlelight concert, The Teskey Brothers delivered an amazing version of White Christmas – the Otis Redding version. A very powerful and poignant rendition… one thing is for sure… Otis Redding lives on in the spirit of The Teskey Brothers.
Kasey Chambers • Christmas Time
Back in 2019 at the Carols by Candlelight concert, The Teskey Brothers delivered an amazing version of White Christmas – the Otis Redding version. A very powerful and poignant rendition… one thing is for sure… Otis Redding lives on in the spirit of The Teskey Brothers.
Dami IM • The Christmas Song, Chestnuts
I know we are more likely to be on the beach or having a barbie at Christmas – but there’s always something a bit ‘cosy and festive’ about a traditional Christmas song. And Dami uses her vocal range and talent to give this ‘old chestnut’ a beautiful lift.
Paul Kelly, Vika Bull • Christmas Train
‘Paul Kelly’s Christmas Train’ album sees him work with some special guests, Kasey Chambers, Dan Kelly,  Emma Donovan, Kate Miller-Heidke and Linda and Vika Bull. We’ve chosen this rockin’ gem – Paul on backing vocals.. and dynamite Vika Bull powering through the title track: ‘Christmas Train’.
Paul Kelly • How to Make Gravy
No Aussie festive songlist would be complete without ‘How To Make Gravy’, which has grown to become our unofficial Australian Christmas anthem. No … wait a moment … back up …rewind… THIS IS OUR OFFICIAL AUSTRALIAN CHRISTMAS ANTHEM. It’s so good and no list can be without it. Just last week Paul Kelly released this new video to make a beautiful song even more relevant in these times. Smiling? Crying? You bet – and loving it!
OK OK, so you’ve had the visuals… so let’s go on a journey… an audio festive journey… a journey to Christmas wonderland.
Actually, it’s to our Spotify playlist: BluesFestive Wonderland. Christmas songs, holiday songs, sad songs, joyous songs. There are songs by current Bluesfest artists, songs by past Bluesfest artists, songs by some who have not yet graced us with their presence, and even one by a national treasure who is sadly no longer with us. There are even songs just because there’s ‘blue’ or ‘glitter’ or ‘dinosaur’ in the title (yes, seriously!) and we are enjoying looking, finding and adding to this playlist…
So this holiday time – get this on…. And occasionally, think of Easter and your trip to Bluesfest.
Merry Christmas everybody!
