Who would have thought that, just ten weeks on from the cancelled Bluesfest 2021 Easter event, that we would be saying the re-scheduled event, happening over the October long weekend (Fri 1st – Mon 4th) is forecast to SELL OUT by our estimation.
For this to become a reality, so much had to occur.
Firstly, everyone at Bluesfest had to get through the initial trauma of another cancellation of the festival… and focus only on getting everyone on the Bluesfest team moving forward with dignity, with the knowledge we did everything right – and will do so again.
It is great to have both Midnight Oil and Paul Kelly added to the lineup of Bluesfest 2021 – The October Edition plus almost all of the artists returning from Easter 2021.
We, as an industry – the music industry, want to go back to presenting events. The truth is that without the show, there is no show business. We realise we must do so in a COVID-Safe manner and will continue to do our utmost in keeping everyone safe who comes to Bluesfest.
The reason we have confidence in going ahead (and selling out) is due to the incredible response we have received from those of you who also experienced the cancellation – our Easter event ticket holders.
You were so greatly inconvenienced, yet the majority of you held onto your tickets and rolled them over to the October event. We humbly thank you for your support. In reality, this left us in a position of not having as many tickets to sell for the rescheduled event, as normal.
There just isn’t any other music fan like a Bluesfest one – you are such music lovers, and you inspire us to do our best for you. ⭐️
We understand that many of you will be coming from states and territories which don’t have a holiday on the October long weekend – for this, you truly are amazing.
That’s not to forget those who were coming in Easter and couldn’t return this time. We look forward to welcoming you again to a very special Bluesfest at Easter 2022, with a strong lineup of Aussies, Kiwis… and if the world allows it, Internationals too. We are already working on it!
