There is no festival like Bluesfest. It’s full of outstanding talent, performances, unforgettable vibe, delicious food and more… and we aren’t only the ones to say it! Here are the top 7 reasons why Bluesfest is unique.
THE PERFECT MIX
When it comes to a fantastic mix of headliners, first-timers and returning favourites – Bluesfest always nails the balance. With a tonne of research, networking, friendships, thought and consideration that goes into the lineup, they always seem to hit that sweet spot.
THE VIBE
There’s no other festival that brings such a unique mix of punters from all walks of life… and they are all there for one reason – the music. Let me tell you, people loving and living music together creates a fantastic energy – the artists feel it, and it brings out the best in them. It’s like no other.

BLUESFEST BUSKING COMPETITION
What other way to showcase up-and-coming Aussie talent other than a busking competition? Then just throw in an international audience of festival-goers and music industry elites and you’ve really got yourself a recipe for success. The competition is spread out over Byron Bay on the lead up to the festival with the winning acts performing on the Bluesfest Delta Stage. Past contestants include the likes of Kim Churchurchill, Tones and I and 2019 winner Electrik Lemonade.
A FIRST NATIONS FESTIVAL FOR ALL AUSTRALIANS
Boomerang Indigenous festival features the very best that our original culture has to offer in the arts, talks and ideas, as well as emerging musicians, and dancers, workshops and more – all run during Bluesfest. It’s a fantastic opportunity to discover, celebrate and enjoy the world’s oldest instruments, dance and rituals along with traditional art practices and musical workshops over three days of festivities.
“There were the sun and the sand grounds, and then there were all of us together on the crest of a new beginning. It’s obvious the people will return for this experience and for our people it will be a returning of the culture.” – Bundjalong Woman and Festival Director, Rhoda Roberts
