Always an exciting and amazing part of the Bluesfest Experience is taking time to explore the eclectic mix of market traders, food outlets and charity stalls, all while enjoying the changing music as you move from stage to stage.
Of course, you can’t go past the Byron Bay Organic Donuts – they are absolutely legendary…
For our campers, there’s the Bloody Good Food Company at The Campers Café each morning…
and then… well, after that… the world is your oyster – to coin a foodie phrase!
Bluesfest food stalls will take you around the gastroglobe: French, English, Italian, Greek, Thai, Balinese, Japanese and American dishes will fill you with the energy you need to see and hear all your favourite music.
Sample Ilias’s salt and feta balls(!), the Fun Guys Mushroom Kitchen, Kin Cen’s pad thai, Lucid Pure Vegetarian’s laksa and dosa, and for meat lovers there’s Jerry’s Smokehouse carnivores platter. There’s Tiki Bowls, Yum Cha, Teppanyaki Noodles, French crepes and Pizza…. our love for food is totally global and we can’t wait for you to experience it!
Moving on… let’s walk off that belly full of food. Take a stroll around the marketplace – and find tomorrow’s outfit. Shoes…must check out Agave Blue for the latest in western boots, and Pendragon for handmade designer shoes. Go bohemian and check out the fashions in Etnix, blu cosmos for cool vintage and Lalli Design the fun, ethical clothing label.
Finally, adorn yourself with henna kits from Henna Harem and accessorize and treat yourself at Leela jewellery or Global Princess; and don’t forget Byron Leather for accessories with a difference! Top off that look with a hat from long-time Bluesfest stall, Pachinko Hats.
Belly still satisfied, tomorrow’s outfit bought… but carrying shopping bags around a festival is not fun! Don’t worry – head on over to BSafe mobile lockers – they will look after you – so you can go dance the rest of the day away knowing all your valuables are stored safely.
Just before you head into the tents to see your new Bluesfest discovery band and favourite artists… please take a moment – and your spare change to one or two of our charity stalls.
Visit the Orangutan Foundation International, Rainforest 4 Foundation, Lifeline Direct, Byron Wildlife Hospital… and don’t forget to say ‘hi’ to the team from our local Byron Youth Service, while charging your phone!
