Thursday 24th March
Thursday is the only day you get to see festival headliner Kendrick Lamar, who won five 2016 Grammy Awards and just released a surprise compilation album Untitled Unmastered on the 4th of March. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Chart, No. 1 on the ARIA Digital Chart and No. 1 on the ARIA Urban Chart and features an impressive collection of eight tracks that were unfinished demos from his Grammy winning album To Pimp a Butterfly.
Also don't miss one of the worlds best blues bands, the Tedeschi Trucks Band who released a new album Let Me Get By this year and will be bringing all 11 members to Bluesfest.
For those who like their contemporary music, five -piece Indie Rock group the Cold War Kids will be making their Bluesfest debut on Easter Thursday.
Friday 25th March
Exclusive performances from The National and Graham Nash, The Mick Fleetwood Blues Band performing early Fleetwood Mac classics as well as the Blues, and star on the rise Elle King - day two of the festival is looking mighty fine!
A not-to-be-missed discovery artist on Friday is Iceland's Kaleo, who have had five number one singles in Iceland and blend Folk, Blues, Country, Roots and Rock to create their own dreamy sound that has seen them be compared to the likes of Bon Iver and Iron & Wine.
Saturday 26th March
Fans of D'Angelo, who won two 2016 Grammy Awards for Best R&B Album for Black Messiah and Best R&B Song for 'Really Love', are over the moon that he is performing a solid TWO HOUR SET on Saturday!
Not-to-be-missed discovery artist on Easter Saturday - Con Brio, fronted by Ziek McCarter, a charismatic, undeniably gifted showman whose stage presence calls to mind the charisma of a young Michael Jackson or James Brown!
Also don't miss Vintage Trouble who toured with AC/DC in 2015 and will be bringing their old- school Rhythm and Blues and impressive stage presence to Bluesfest for the very first time!
Sunday 27th March
Red Red Wine! Oh yes, today is the day you will get to see UB40 featuring Ali Campbell, Astro & Mickey Virtue in a Bluesfest exclusive! We can already picture the Bluesfest crowd bopping away to their infectious feel-good, Jamaican-inspired grooves!
Crowd favourites The Cat Empire will be getting you onto your feet with their energetic, rhythmic sounds! Their new album Rising With The Sun came in at No. 1 on the ARIA Main Album Chart making it their second- ever top charting album, following on from Two Shoes which hit No. 1 in 2005. If you like to dance around and have fun then this is one set not to be missed!
And make sure you also don't miss the legendary Jackson Browne on Easter Sunday in his first return to Bluesfest in 10 years!
Monday 28th March
Although you may not have heard of all of the artists on the Bluesfest bill, it is all about discovering new artists and sharing first-hand experiences with your loved ones!
So even though Monday is jam packed with legends like Tom Jones and Brian Wilson performing Pet Sounds, make sure you don't miss the up and comers with some serious talent! Our tips for Monday include:
Irish Mythen - hand picked by Melissa Etheridge as a special guest on her Sydney and Melbourne Bluesfest sideshows, and not to mention one of the festival favourites from this year's Woodford Folk Festival!
Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats - Soul sensations that in a matter of time will be a household name!
St. Paul & The Broken Bones - This Alabama Soul sextet are coming to Australia for the first time to blow you away with their impressive live show - blue eyed Soul at its best!
Blackberry Smoke - Zac Brown said "There hasn't been a more important band in Country Music.. in the last 20 years than.. Blackberry Smoke" Say no more!
Fantastic Negrito - A self-taught multi-instrumentalist from the age of 20, Xavier Dphrepaulezz (Fantastic Negrito) got caught up in the streets and the dark side of the music industry. Affected by early failings to reach stardom, and three near-death experiences, this talented musician is going to move and rock the Bluesfest crowd and no doubt win over many new fans!

Show reviews from Bluesfest artists already in Australia! It's time to get excited!!!
Malian band Songhoy Blues just landed in the country last week and feedback from their first ever Australian show in Perth was “…put some extra pegs in the tent, these guys are going to blow the roof off Bluesfest” and “Can't tell you what an uplifting experience that was.”
From Perth the band then traveled east for the Port Fairy Folk Festival attended by Bluesfest Festival Director Peter Noble who said of their performance:
"Songhoy Blues performed two rousing sets at the Port Fairy Folk Festival this weekend bringing the audience out of their chairs and onto their feet dancing to their infectious rhythms on both occasions. The band is loving their tour of Australia and can't wait to get to Bluesfest where they are saying they really want to give their new album to their favourite artist Kendrick Lamar. They so want to meet him. They also said their favourite guitarist is playing Bluesfest, Joe Bonamassa, and that they are disappointed that by the time he plays they will already be on their way to the US for shows there and they will miss out on hearing him. They are super nice people and will be one of the many artists touring Australia and playing Bluesfest for the first time who are sure to impress massively"
The Music also gave them an equally impressive review from their Golden Plains performance:
"There is always that band that no one knows too much about but blows the crowd away. This year that honour goes to Songhoy Blues. Hailing from Mali, Africa, the band have the crowd eating out of their hands with their blend of '70s rock, blues and reggae."
Make sure you don't miss the hottest world music band that EVERYONE is talking about!

SONGHOY BLUES PERFORM AT BLUESFEST ON THURSDAY 24th MARCH AND FRIDAY 25th MARCH!
Bluesfest Festival Director Peter Noble also got to catch Steve Earle and The Dukes at the Port Fairy Folk Festival, check out the review here:
"The band comes on and plays real Texas country blues a la Lightnin' Hopkins. His most recent album Terraplane is Steve's highest charting album in the US since Copperhead Road. It went to No. 1 on the Billboard Blues Chart. When the band went electric half way through the set, they got a big response. They certainly packed out the main stage area. As always Steve is creating and leaving no one dissatisfied for the whole show."
