No way - Only 16 days to go!
Can you actually believe it? Our 25th Silver Jubilee is now only 16 days away.
Bluesfest 25 is going to be the ‘celebration of the year’, drawing a tremendous amount of wonderful and like-minded people together – from young to old together in harmony –and will be remembered as a historic event.
It’s going to be one big and beautiful event, you don’t want to miss!
At Bluesfest you will enter a world of music with over 100 artists delivering their genius across 7 stages over 5 beautiful Easter days.
PICTURE THIS in your mind:
Let’s say its Sunday late afternoon and you are at Bluesfest. You just had a beautiful meal with your loved ones in the food court, reminiscing on the past few days at the Festival, having lots of laughs, feeling close to each other and now it’s time to grab a drink (how about a vodka mix or French champagne from the new Champagne/Vodka bar) and it’s time to hit the stages!
If you have bought an entry to the Sunset Club you could be heading right to your special reserved seating area.
Will your final stop for the Sunday night be the Queen of Soul Erykah Badu, headlining Mojo Stage or may it be one of Bluesfest’s all-time favourites Michael Franti? Whoever the lucky artist may be (not forgetting all the other closing artists on the other stages), there are so many wonderful performances to see before the Sunday night closes.
From WAR’s unique mix of Funk, Jazz, R&B and Rock & Roll, to the deep Blues guitar playing by Joanne Shaw Taylor, on to the renowned Folk by Passenger, to the most engaging folk saturated pop around right now: Iron and Wine!
Of course not leaving out the raw soul-wrenching Blues harp by James Cotton Blues Band or the exploding tunes by rapper Chali 2na, plus catching some of the Reggae grooves by Sly & Robbie & The Taxi Gang and stopping in to listen to one of the most respected guitarist in the world Jimmie Vaughan, as well as dancing to the ultimate party band Ozomatli and melting away to the dreamy, soulful, down tempo sounds of Morcheeba.
It’s non-stop! Oh ... and just in case you need a break from the nonstop music, call in at RockWiz and let yourself be entertained by a thrilling mix of music, quiz, chat and comedy.
Yes, Bluesfest has it all covered and will guarantee you a music fix that will last an entire year: All leaving you in a stage of bliss and happiness.
And this is just on the Sunday!!!
There is so much more. Headlining artists across the entire Bluesfest weekend include John Mayer, The Dave Matthews Band, Jack Johnson, Jeff Beck, John Butler, India Arie, Joss Stone, Buddy Guy, The Doobie Brothers, Aaron Neville, Elvis Costello and a personal favourite by the author of this e-card: KC & The Sunshine Band.
BUT Bluesfest isn’t just about music, it’s about togetherness and becoming part of a larger family chatting it up with the folks sitting or camping next to you, or whose kids are playing with your kids. Bluesfest is the best place to meet people who share your interests and expand your circle. Most of all, it’s about building life long memories and letting your hair down (a bit).
All along you are only a short bus ride away from one of Australia’s most favourite hippie towns: Byron Bay. It doesn’t get much better than this.

Peter Noble, your Festival director says:
Hi there Bluesfestival goers,
If you are receiving this - you have in all probability attended Bluesfest in recent years - what an exciting time of year this is, you can just feel the energy building in our office and our site is building nicely.
Only a little over two weeks to go - many artists who are touring begin their shows next week - it really is all happening.
We are ready to present, what I really hope is viewed, to be our best Bluesfest yet.
There are artists performing who played the first ever East Coast Blues Festival (our previous name) at the Arts Factory in Byron Bay all those years ago - they are Charlie Musselwhite, The Paladins and The Backsliders.
And there are many who have a special significance to us over the years from Candye Kane to Dave Matthews Band - The Wailers - keeping Bob Marley's music alive so many others.
There are familiar artists and those playing for the first time.
There is a cutting edge contemporary element also with the festival featuring artists such as Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Jake Bugg, Joss Stone, Matt Corby, Erykah Badu, Passenger and Iron & Wine to name just a few - sitting beside what I believe is the best coming together of Blues and Soulful artists on the planet recently - from Buddy Guy to James Cotton, Jimmie Vaughan, Robben Ford, Booker T Jones, Aaron Neville, Dr John, both the North Mississippi AllStars and Valerie June are simply not to be missed, as is Chain - plus so many others including the best of Aussie blues - I could go on and on.
On top of the above mentioned are a slew of the finest guitar players including Jeff Beck, the mercurial 17 year old Matthew Curry, Warren Haynes performing with Govt Mule, Joanne Shaw Taylor - winner of the British blues Awards Best Female Artist at only 20 years of age, Gary Clark Jr and John Mayer - phew.
There are quite a few recent favourites returning - Playing For Change, Elvis Costello, Jack Johnson - (well it's only been a decade since he first performed), India.Arie , Kim Churchill, new favourite Genevieve Chadwick and our favourite Zydeco artist Terrance Simien to name a few.
We have Classic Rock represented with original members of both Captain Beefheart's Magic Band and The Grandmothers of Invention - featuring original Mothers, WAR, The Doobies, Boz Scaggs, and one of our favourites KC & The Sunshine Band - plus a genuine supergroup in Coronet Blue. And of course we have Alt country and Country music well represented with appearances from Steve Earle, one of our all time favourite artists Kasey Chambers, John Williamson, Jason Isbell and Troy Cassar-Daley.
I also want to put out a special shout out to the ladies of Bluesfest - what a year for them - on top of those mentioned above, Beth Hart, the incredible Trixie Whitley (another don't miss), Suzanne Vega, KT Tunstall, Skye Edwards back with Morcheeba, Grace Potter, Dyson, Stringer and Cloher - the list just goes on.
It's going to be very, very special - a deafening cheer for the Blues & Roots music movements will ring around the world this Easter.
If you have bought a ticket already - may I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support - both now and over the years. We simply would not be here without you - and we will NEVER forget that.
For those who haven't bought a ticket yet - truly - what are you waiting for- it just does not get any better than this.
We are going to have a huge year - and I cannot promise Bluesfest will not sell out on Friday - and possibly Saturday prior to the festival. It really is beginning to look that way. This is not spin.
I will do all I can to find some more season tickets - so those of you who want the complete experience can attend all of Bluesfest - at the moment though - we are down to a handful left.
Thanks again for believing,

Take a look at these pictures showing the massive site works that have gone in over the past year!!
Such great improvements!
- We have completed the exit from the motorway on to the Festival site and on to the carparks. Bluesfest now has its own highway exit coming from the north!
- All car parks are finished with road base down to the end of each one of them.
- We have sealed areas within the Festival located at the outside of the major stages, where we will be erecting further tents for everybody with portable chairs to sit with viewing of the stage.
++Permanent seating will also be provided within the Mojo and Crossroads stage.
- More roads have been built and improvements around the public transport areas have been made.
If you have been to Bluesfest, since it located to its permanent home, you will definitely notice the changes!
We will be sending you more pictures next week, showing you how the Festival build is coming along!
Let us say this: No matter if you have been to Bluesfest before or this is your first time, if you love music or just want to celebrate - one thing for sure: you don’t want to miss the 25th Anniversary Bluesfest.
We can’t wait to see you there!
