Bluesfest wins 2010 Australian Event of the Year!

A very Happy New Year to Everyone!

15 January 2010

The new year has begun and Bluesfest is drawing closer and closer. That all familiar Bluesfest buzz is out there and tickets are now selling fast.

Yes, it is only 76 days until our 21st celebrations begin and we have gone into top gear to deliver you a weekend you will treasure for a life time. Bluesfest is on track for our best year yet at our new home at Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm just outside of Byron Bay. Get ready!

Here are some important news for you:

Our 3rd round of amazing artists will be released on that day. It will include rising stars, new discoveries, anticipated returns to Bluesfest and a few surprises. You will not be disappointed.

NOW is your last chance to buy the discounted 5 day Festival tickets (save $40) and Buddy Package (save $60). We have exceeded our allocation for these tickets above and beyond and they will no longer be available after Wednesday January 27.

The full, downloadable and printable playing schedule will go on line, including all the stages and performance times. This will give you the full run down on who is playing where and when. You can take out that highlighter and start circling the artists you want to see and plan your days ahead.

More important news not to be missed:

Saturday one day camping is selling fast and is very likely to sell out
in the coming weeks.
VIP Saturday tickets: A very hot ticket. There are only a handful left, so don’t miss out!
Bluesfest just won the Rhythms Magazine Readers Poll for “Best Australian Festival” for the 16th time. Way to go and thank you to everyone who voted for us.

Some pictures & News of our new home:

The site is beginning to look simply fantastic and we are so excited to be able to present Bluesfest for the first time at our new home. Here are some pictures only taken a couple of days ago. When you look at them imagine the fields being filled with the big tents, many food & market stalls, plenty of bars and lots of happy Bluesfest people. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Don’t forget: Camping right next door to where the musical adventure takes place, is the real way to experience what Bluesfest is all about. Camping tickets are now selling fast and we encourage you to make your plans and lock in your camping. Looking at the pictures, where else would you want to stay?

Transport to and from Festival:

Please note that plenty of Buses will be available. The Byron Shuttle service, serviced by Blanchs will run every 20 minutes to and from the Festival all day and all evening. If you wish to leave the Festival at any time during the day or evening, just jump on one of the buses and of course coming to the Festival is just as easy.

In the late evening and after the Festival finishes at Midnight there will be multiple buses waiting outside to take everyone to their destination. There will be plenty available and no one is going to be left stranded.

The bus drop off & pick up area will be as close as possible to the Southern Entrance, within a short walking distance. It has a covered waiting area and will be monitored, so no one can jump the queue.

Blanchs is in the process of putting a full time table on their website and it will be available in the upcoming week. Visit the Blanchs Website on: www.blanchs.com.au or ph: 0266862144.
