Message from Festival Director Peter Noble:

Greetings to all our Bluesfest members,

Where does the time go? The end of the year approaches fast (it's only 140 days to Bluesfest!), so now is the perfect opportunity to update you on all the exciting things that have been happening here at the Bluesfest office.

The reaction to our first artist announcement has been overwhelming to say the least both here and abroad, and we're humbled and excited at the response. For example, it's great to see the Crowded House "Best Of" re-enter the charts since our first announcement, an album that is now 12x Platinum in Australia!

Each year I do my very best to make it the best Bluesfest yet. Every year is different and special - but this year, for our
21st birthday party - the stars are truly aligning - and it really looks on par with our best ever folks!

The 2010 line-up is just going to be out of this world, which is very satisfying as it is coming together in big ways for our move to our new land at the Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm.

Of course booking Bluesfest is rewarding and challenging, but I'm living a dream doing it, and I really want to pass on my immense gratitude and let you know we couldn't do it without all of you - our Bluesfest fans!

Tyagarah Camping and Transport news

Work on our new site is truly under way! Building roadways, extending the highway exit, creating water supply, bridges - you name it. It will take a whole lot more to eventually get it to a "dream" state - but we're very happy with the investment results for our first year.

We want campers to know (up to 6,500 of you!) that you'll be really looked after on the new site. Showers, a general store, secure camping areas and a beautiful natural environment will be on offer.

The beauty of camping right near the action is getting the REAL FESTIVAL EXPERIENCE - come and go as you please, see the artists you want to see - and get right into the rhythm of it!

If wet weather happens - the new camping site is much better equipped to handle it than Belongil. In fact, we had 100 millimetres of rain last weekend, and the camping ground held up perfectly.

Re transport: remember the Tyagarah site is just 11 kilometres away from Byron and 8k's from Brunswick heads. We'll be running easy shuttle buses on a regular basis to both locations for a small fee. And take note: car parking will be free at Bluesfest! Leave your car parked the whole festival (locking valuables in your car is a good idea instead of your tent) - and if you find yourself possibly over the alcohol limit - leave your car and use the shuttle bus instead!

OK - that's it for now folks. Sincere thanks again - we know you will not be disappointed with our mega 2010 festival. Until then, be safe, well and wise.

Cheers,
Peter Noble and the Bluesfest Team
