Neil Young & Promise of The Real Rockin The Desert!

11 October 2016

Neil Young & Promise of The Real Rockin The Desert!

Over the weekend ( 7-9 October, 2017) 75,000 people gathered in the desert at Coachella Valley, Indio, California for what can only be described as a ‘Once In A Lifetime’ concert of music royalty.

Neil Young and Promise Of The Real (performing at Bluesfest Good Friday in 2017) co-headlined with Sir Paul McCartney on the second night of the three night, two weekend concert called Desert Trip, featuring The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan ( who played at Bluesfest in 2011), Roger Walters and The Who.

For anyone lucky enough to first secure tickets and have the privilege of attending, there’s no denying it would have been worth every penny.

One of the most talked about performances was when Neil Young jumped up on stage with Sir Paul McCartney for a couple of songs, namely The Beatles  'A Day In The Life', which morphed into a take on John Lennon's 'Give Peace a Chance'.

One fan captured the perform below

And from all the comments from the Desert Trip Facebook page and media reviews, it appears that Neil Young and Promise of The Real stole the show with their powerful 18 song set.

What a performance! Neil Young at his best...and his band.... stellar” Sharon Page Horn

Pretty sure that Neil just gave the performance of his lifetime“ - Mike Misekow

Here’s one fans recording of the encore song ‘ Rockin In The Free World’ – and it’s killer!
